PEDAGODICAL CONTENTS

1. Teaching Methods of the Teacher that I observed

I am pretty excited to observe a class in the Future School. I am excited because I will be engaging in new teaching styles and a new teaching environment, knowing that Future School is really far from the traditional classroom we have in the Philippines. I was placed in Room 2G 1.04, and the teacher I observed was Ms. Tran Thi Bich Nhi, who also became my cooperating teacher. She teaches Primary Maths.

Before she started teaching, she employed discipline, and to my shock, despite how noisy and messy the classroom was, when she started banging her ruler on the table, all the learners returned to their seats and stood up. I was amazed by her discipline.

2. Their learning materials and innovation

Since math is her subject, it was all about solving, and her lesson that day was the addition. She does a discussion and shows examples on the board. Right after the discussion, Ms. Tran did an oral recitation, and the students actively participated, especially during board work. Students raised their hands, trying to call the attention of their teacher to be called, and Ms. Tran moved the board according to the comfort of the learner when answering.

3. Sources of learning and technology used by the teachers

Future School is high-tech, and all of the learning materials are engaged in technology. The school has a library, it is also air-conditioned, the tables and chairs are really comfortable to use. Learners can use the library during their break time. The school also has a Television that teachers can use during lesson discussions. It has a clear screen and good audio. Since I am in the primary building, it is colorful and has a playing area. The student's bags and other things are placed in a cabinet near them so that they can be comfortable in class. Though it was still in primary, the classrooms have green and whiteboards and are movable.

4. Authentic assessment used by the teacher

Though technology is used during discussion, paper and pencil assessments are still present and are helpful mostly during individual activities. Young learners also have writing and drawing activities. Future School ensures an innovative learning environment and makes sure that the school helps the learners discover their abilities and passions. Future School also specializes in rooms for computer laboratories.
